Valorant Yoru Agent Guide: Abilities, tips, and tricks

Although it's hard to master, Yoru can be the perfect Duelist in the right hands.

Yoru is a Japanese agent in Valorant who was released to the game with the launch of Episode 2 on January 12, 2021. Also known for being the game's 15th agent, Yoru was the fifth Duelist to be released to Valorant.

Abilities

As a Duelist, Yoru's abilities are orientated towards making his job as an entry easier. Therefore, don't expect the Japanese agent to help his teammates.

Basic - Fakeout

Yoru's Fakeout releases a clone of himself. When an enemy shoots at the clone, the clone explodes and blinds every enemy in the area.

Basic - Blindside

Yoru's Blindside allows him to release a flashing orb. The players who look at it at the moment of the orb's explosion will be blinded for 0.6 seconds.

Signature - Gatecrash

Yoru's Gatecrash allows him to create a portable portal that he can use for the next 30 seconds. After the 30 seconds have passed, the portal closes automatically.

Ultimate - Dimensional Drift

Yoru's Dimensional Drift is his ultimate ability. It allows him to travel across dimensions. Once the ability is triggered, Yoru can't be seen by enemies. While using his Dimensional Drift, Yoru can interact with objects like weapons and the Spike. Yoru's ultimate ability lasts for 12 seconds.

How to use Yoru in Valorant?

Here are some pieces of advice to get the best out of Yoru, one of Valorant's best Duelists!

Use Yoru's Ultimate to safely pick up the Spike or rotate to opposite bombsite

Yoru's Ultimate can be used aggressively, and there's nothing wrong with that. However, sometimes you must play smart to outplay your opponents.

When the Spike carrier has been killed, use Yoru's Dimensional Drift to turn yourself invisible. This will allow you to safely get the Spike and move to the Bombsite.

Additionally, you can use Yoru's Dimensional Drift to quickly rotate to the opposite bombsite when the enemies don't expect it. Although it's not as strong as Omen's From the Shadows, Yoru's Ultimate is good enough to catch the defenders off-guard.

Teleport back to a safe position with Gatecrash

Gatecrash is a useful ability to go back to a safe position after performing an aggressive play. You can combine it with your Blindside to first rush the opponents and then travel back to your preferred location.

Keep in mind that the Gatecrash opens a portal for thirty seconds. After that, the portal will close and you won't be able to use it anymore.

Use Blindside before entering the site

Remember, blinding your opponents is extremely helpful when pushing the Bombsite. Yoru's Blindside is one of the best flashing abilities in Valorant and puts the Japanese agent in a beautiful spot when making aggressive plays. With Blindside, you will always have the upper hand!

The same can be said about stopping someone from entering the site. Blindside allows Yoru to delay any kind of push to the Bombsite, as the enemies won't rush if they are flashed. You must be smarted than your opponents!
