Earlier today, the Esports World Cup unveiled the names of the 30 teams that joined the EWCF Support Program.

According to the Esports World Cup's latest announcement, the EWCF Support Program is an "initiative designed to promote the creation of sustainable infrastructure for multidisciplinary esports clubs."

The announcement also included more information regarding the benefits of joining the Esports World Cup support program, which include the following:

As members of the EWCF Club Support Program, these esports organizations can receive six-figure funding to enter into new esports titles at the highest level, diversifying their competitive footprint and providing more opportunities for esports athletes. The funding has already enabled esports Clubs to:
  • Re-enter esports titles in which they previous established long histories of involvement, and enter new gaming genres with strong grassroots resonance
  • Expand into new international markets by signing players and rosters outside their home region, fueling stronger global esports infrastructure
  • Create novel content to engage fans with compelling player narratives, along with hiring the staff needed to support those efforts

Initially, the Esports World Cup was expected to include 28 teams in their support program. However, the Esports World Cup decided to increase the number to 30 due to "the significant interest in the Program from Clubs all over the world."

Additionally, today's announcement included more information on how the teams have been accepted to the program while making it clear to their readers that teams in the program won't automatically qualify for the Esports World Cup.
