Halo Infinite March update: Easy anti-cheat, Firefight Custom, networking overhaul, and more!

Halo Infinite’s upcoming update is just around the corner.

Halo Infinite’s upcoming patch is just around the corner. On March 19, the game will be shaken by the introduction of some exciting tweaks that will surely improve the player’s experience.

Here’s everything you need to know about next week’s update!

Easy Anti Cheat

Easy Anti Cheat will be deployed to Halo Infinite on Marc 19. This tool will monitor the players’ files while they are connected to Halo Infinite, increasing the overall security of the game. With this feature, 343 Industries expect to reduce the cheating situation in Halo Infinite.

Firefight Custom

Firefight: King of the Hill has been a big success in Halo Infinite since its deployment to the game in Dec. 2023. However, a new game mode is coming to the game now to give players some more freedom.

With the March 19 patch, players will be able to play Firefight: King of the Hill without the King of the Hill. Additionally, they will be allowed to make other changes to customize their experience in the game mode.

Forgers are also getting new Forge Node Graph functions to custom their maps and modes, including the following:

  • On Firefight Set Start
  • On Firefight Set End
  • End Firefight Custom Set
  • Fail Firefight Custom Set
  • Adjust Firefight Custom Lifepool
  • Get Firefight Custom Set State
  • Get Firefight Custom Wave Spawners
  • Get Firefight Custom Boss Spawners
  • Override AI Spawner Definition

Networking Overhaul

Halo Infinite will get a “completely overhauled networking model” in the patch that will be deployed on March 19.

Recently, the community complained about the multiple bugs that affected their experience when it came to play online game modes. After the positive response by the community following the teaser released in December, the team is happy to fully release it to the game after feeling confident about the feature.

Squad battle changes

Squad Battle will go through some changes too. The March update will introduce seven maps that were created by different Forgers.

Additionally, we will see the arrival of Perdition, which featured in Halo 4, and Timberland, which featured in Halo: CE.

Here are the seven maps that will be launched:

  • Perdition
  • Timberland
  • Refuge
  • Rendezvous
  • Gyre
  • Harvest
  • Behemoth

Weapon changes

Some weapons will be tweaked, as the patch will include the following gun nerfs and buffs:

M392 Bandit and Bandit EVO

The gun’s reloading speed will be increased.

Heatwave

The changes made to this gun will make it more difficult for players to hit their shots. The aim assist falloff range, the aim assist range, and the aim assist angle have all been decreased.

Plasma Pistol

The Plasma Pistol is getting a faster charge-up time, a faster overheat, and a decrease in the rate of fire single shots. With these changes, the developers want to see the players using the charged shot more often.

Stalker Rifle

The Stalker Rifle is getting a reduction to the number of shots needed to overheat and a slower venting rate per second.

VK78 Commando

The VK78 is getting an increased close range friction and a less aggressive bloom.

Gravity Hammer

Last but not least, the Gravity Hammer is getting some changes that will allow better damage but at the same time a better knockback.

Additionally, the team has fixed the bug that doubled the power of the Gravity Hammer and its variants.

Forge and Stability changes

Finally, Forge is getting some bug fixes next week as the main feature will be Copy Protection or maps and modes. In terms of stability, the team is trying to improve it by identifying crash fixes.
