Redemption Road Games have announced their second title, KingMakers, a blend of real-time strategy (RTS) and third-person action gameplay set in Medieval Europe. The twist? You play a soldier sent back in time with a vast array of modern military hardware (big guns).
The game's first trailer was released today (February 20) and has quickly gone viral, revealing a game where you can take a car and mow down iron-clad swordsmen one minute before firing a grenade launcher at soldiers sieging your castle in another.
Players can expect to take part in massive battles and go toe-to-toe in real-time over-the-shoulder action gameplay, with inspirations stretching from the Mount and Blade to the Dynasty Warriors series.
KingMakers is set to feature solo and co-op modes allowing players to build their own kingdoms with different units, adding a strategic layer to the gameplay.
According to the official KingMakers Twitter account, roughly 20-25 people are working on the development of the game, adding in another response that everything showcased in the trailer is real, with each unit running on "its own AI."
In a Steam blog post, the developers intend to release an early access version of KingMakers at some point in 2024, with no set date as of right now. An Xbox X/s version has also been confirmed.
This is developer Redemption Road Games' second title following the release of the aptly named Road Redemption in 2019. That title garnered Very Positive reviews on Steam with over 9k.
If you like what you see, you can wishlist KingMakers on Steam right now.
