Want to know what content is leaving Destiny 2 when The Final Shape launches on June 4? Then we got you covered.
While it's not an ideal scenario, Bungie ends up removing certain content to make room for brand-new one when a new expansion drops. As The Final Shape marks a massive new chapter in the game's history, expect plenty of changes.
Here, we'll detail all confirmed content that will be cut from the game once the conclusion of the Dark and Light Saga arrives.
What is being removed from Destiny 2 when The Final Shape launches?
Sadly, there's plenty of confirmed content that's going away. Although we still don't know the full list, here is everything confirmed to be leaving so far:
Into the Light content
Most Into the Light content will be going away. Specifically, the Hall of Champions social space, Arcite 99-40 quests, the ability to obtain the BRAVE title, and special drops of the BRAVE arsenal known as shinies.
Some stuff will be kept around, such as the Superblack shader and the actual BRAVE arsenal, just not the ability to get the shiny versions of them. The three-man activity, Onslaught, will also be kept after The Final Shape releases.
Pantheon Challenge
The Pantheon Challenge will also say goodbye. It was always meant to be a limited-time activity for hardcore players to entertain themselves while we waited for The Final Shape so Bungie isn't keeping it around.
Seasonal activities and vendors
A common thing with a new expansion is the removal of all seasonal content and vendors from the last few seasons. In previous years, players criticized Bungie for inciting FOMO (fear of missing out) as the seasonal activities would only be around for their correspondent season.
Now, activities can be accessed during an entire expansion cycle. Sadly, Lightfall's seasons, and the seasonal format as we know it, will be gone with The Final Shape.
Bungie could confirm a few activities that might stick around, but until then, treat them like they have their days counted.
Legendary Shards
If you've played Destiny 2 for a while, you've probably amassed quite a collection of Legendary Shards. It pains us to say that this iconic currency will also leave the game with The Final Shape.
So we highly recommend you spend those bad boys, maybe get some Enhancement Cores, as they will be completely removed and you'll end with nothing to show for it.
Weapon sunsetting
Finally, perhaps the most welcomed change. After four years, weapon sunsetting will leave Destiny 2, making older weapons viable as they can get back up to the current Power Level cap.
Weapon sunsetting was a controversial decision taken by Bungie as they tried and failed to balance the game, with the PvP being dominated by the same subset of guns for far too long.
If you've kept a few God Rolls from the pre-sunset era then you're in luck. Dust them off and start wreaking havoc like it's 2019 again.
