Now that we are in the new year, people wonder when is Verdansk exactly coming back to Warzone. The iconic launch map from the first iteration of the battle royale will make a comeback to the current game, as it was confirmed during the COD Next 2024 event.
Some weeks after that announcement, rumors circulating online stated that the map's return was slated for sometime in early 2025, with a launch in Season 2 or Season 3 sounding as the likely choice.
TheGhostOfHope, a prominent leaker in the Call of Duty community, assured a player in their Twitter replies that Verdansk will return in Season 3.
This seems very likely given that Area 99 was launched during Season 1 reloaded, meaning Verdansk launching in Season 2 would be to close together.
This is just a rumor and we still need to wait for an official confirmation from Activision. The map could launch either at the beginning of the season or through the mid-season patch.
We also don't know which version of Verdansk will be added to the game, as the map went through several iterations during its time in the first game. Once more details are announced, we will be posting about it.
