Valorant's Patch 8.08 brought multiple changes to the game including agent tweaks and more. However, the community was surprised by the lack of information regarding the current map pool rotation.
As of today, Valorant's competitive map pool rotation includes seven maps as Icebox, Lotus, Bind, Sunset, Breeze, Ascent, and Split complete the list. This map pool rotation was introduced to the game at the start of the year. Since then, no changes have been made to the game's map list.
On April 30, new rumors arose regarding the arrival of a new map to Valorant, potentially being called Bastion. A few hours later, Riot Games' Product Manager Altombre explained on Reddit that Valorant will rotate the maps after the VCT Masters Shanghai, as seen below:
Additionally, Riot Games' Product Manager Altombre also mentioned that the map pool rotation changes will be introduced to Valorant with the release of Patch 8.11, as seen below:
With this information being public, we can now assume that there will be two more patches before the introduction of a change to the map pool rotation, as Patch 8.08 was deployed on April 30.
The community's reaction to the news has been outstanding. Valorant fans are already looking forward to the beginning of June when the new map pool rotation is introduced. Until then, the players will have to cool down the hype as the changes will come in arguably six weeks.
