Patch 9.08 for Valorant has arrived, bringing all the content of Episode 9 Act 3 and also making a few adjustments to the competitive map pool.
Unlike other shooters, not every map is always available in the Competitive playlists. Instead, Riot selects a handful to include in the map pool and leaves a few out. With this system, developers can work on inactive maps, whether to fix an issue, add new stuff, or modify their layout.
We have gathered all the information you need to know about the current map pool in case you don't know what maps are on the game.
Valorant map pool
The game features two separate map pools, one for Competitive, Deathmatch, and Premier queues, and another for the remaining game modes. Here is how the map pools are organized after update 9.08:
Unrated, Swift Play, Spike Rush, and Escalation map pool
All maps are available when queueing up for the previously mentioned game modes, including the most recent addition, Abyss. This change was implemented after the arrival of patch 8.11, switching things up and allowing players to enjoy every map the game has to offer.
Now that all maps from the PC version are available on consoles, the map pool is the same across all platforms.
Competitive, Deathmatch, and Premier map pool
The competitive playlists still feature a restricted map pool and here is the complete list of maps available on all platforms:
- Abyss
- Ascent
- Bind
- Haven
- Pearl
- Split
- Sunset
We will update this article whenever there are any changes to the map pool from both the PC and console versions of the shooter title.
