Esports Nations Cup: Everything we know so far

Here's what we know so far about the Esports Nations Cup.

Esports Nations Cup

On August 23, 2025, Ralf Reichert, CEO of the Esports World Cup Foundation, revealed the Esports Nations Cup. The news were unveiled New Global Sport Conference, a yearly event held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, involving some of the most important figures and investors in the esports and traditional sports field.

The Esports Nations Cup has shaken the whole esports community as it's bringing a type of competition that many fans have always dreamed of: an international competition involving countries instead of esports organizations.

While the Esports Nations Cup has already been officially unveiled, the truth is that not much has been fully revealed. However, here's everything we know so far about the Esports Nations Cup.

What is the Esports Nations Cup?

The Esports Nations Cup is a competition that will involve a large number of nations from all around the globe.

The first edition of the Esports Nations Cup will be played in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on November 2026. This means that fans will have to wait over a year to actually watch the action.

As mentioned in the New Global Sports Conference, the Esports Nations Cup will include over a hundred countries, over a thousand players, and over fifteen different titles.

In other words, the Esports Nations Cup will be the nation-equivalent of the Esports World Cup. However, there's a difference: the Esports Nations Cup won't be a yearly competition.

When and where will the second Esports Nations Cup be played?

The Esports Nations Cup will be a biennial competition, meaning it will be played every two years. While the first edition of the Esports Nations Cup will be played in November 2026, Ralf Reichert didn't unveil the location for the 2028 edition.

With Riyadh being out of the equation for 2028 it feels right to think that the second edition of the Esports Nations Cup will be played somewhere between Europe and North America, with countries like France, the United Kingdom, Germany, or the United States being clear favorites due to having a large record of international esports events held within their borders.
