Just as promised, Treyarch has unveiled the first details about The Tomb, the next Zombies map coming to Black Ops 6.

Following the instructions of Gabriel Kraft in the Citadelle des Morts easter egg, our Zombies crew heads to an excavation site in search of the Sentinel Artifact.

As Treyarch explained in a blog post, the site was built on top of ancient catacombs in the early 1900s. British archeologist Sir Archibald Fotherington-Smythe conducted the excavation project but he apparently disappeared at some point and some photos of his expedition were uncovered.

Here are the photos in question, which give us a look at some of the map's areas:

The post also includes this first in-game screenshot of the map, which shows the excavation site's main open area:

Apart from the screenshots, Treyarch explained that the map is built like Liberty Falls, since this is their most-played Zombies map in recent years, with a focus on repeatability.

The map will feature a reimagined Wonder Weapon from the past, the return of a popular SMG from the past, and innovative camos for Pack-a-Punched weapons.

The Tomb is scheduled to be released on Tuesday, January 28, the same day Season 2 arrives for Black Ops 6 and Warzone. More details will be revealed in the days leading up to the map's release, and this could include the map's cinematic intro.
