Destiny 2 The Final Shape is getting closer, with the massive expansion set to release on June 4. As we gear towards its release, Bungie released a gameplay trailer featuring a better look at the returning Cayde-6.
The trailer had to be shared ahead of time, as it got leaked on social media, with Bungie quickly responding by launching a proper high-quality version via YouTube much to the delight of fans.
The trailer features some gameplay glimpses at what Guardians will be able to do with the new Prismatic subclass, which will feature abilities from all previous Light (Void, Arc, and Solar) and Darkness (Stasis and Strand) subclasses.
It also gives us a better look at Cayde-6, the beloved Exo who was killed by Uldren Sov, now known as The Crow, back in the Forsaken expansion that launched in 2018.
As the final confrontation with The Witness is set to take place inside the enigmatic Traveler, Cayde's consciousness seems to be trapped within, struggling to come to terms with his demise. His ominous speech seem to indicate that players will be in for a tragic and exciting ride, as long-time rivals turned allies such as Empress Caiatl or even Savathun can be seen making a stand.
The Final Shape will feature plenty of content already unveiled by Bungie. On top of the Prismatic subclass, players can expect brand-new weapons, an entire campaign to go through, public activities to farm, and a raid that will launch just three days after the expansion hits.
In many ways, this expansion could very well be the beginning of the end for Destiny 2, as the seasonal model will be left behind in favor of Episodes, with Destiny 3 looming on the horizon according to leaks.
