Even though Season 2 for Black Ops 6 and Warzone starts soon, the rumors about upcoming games for the franchise never stop coming. The latest rumor is about Call of Duty 2026, the next Infinity Ward game.

Popular leaker TheGhostOfHope revealed that DMZ will return as the third game mode in Call of Duty's 2026 title. This makes sense since Infinity Ward was the studio behind the first iteration of this mode, which was introduced when Warzone 2.0 launched in 2022.

Warzone 2.0 DMZ

This leak comes just days after the same source correctly revealed that the next Black Ops 6 Zombies map will come out at the start of Season 2. The account has also stated that Verdansk, the popular map from the first Warzone, is scheduled to return in Season 3.

Although the track record for this source has been good for a while, we will have to wait quite a bit to receive any confirmation from official sources as any Call of Duty 2026 reveals are quite far away.

DMZ was Call of Duty's first attempt into the extraction-shooter genre, where players would drop into one of the Warzone maps and do missions, battle other players, loot, and exfil from the map either successfully or not.

This mode is still available to play through MW2 (2022), with up to four maps to choose from, but it hasn't received any updates or new additions since the game ended its post-launch cycle.
