Blackbeard's reworked shield was unveiled earlier today in Rainbow Six Siege's new CGI trailer for the American operator. It will be introduced to the game with the release of Operation Collision Point.

In the video, fans can see Blackbeard holding a ballistic shield with which he destroys a soft wall. Then, the operator presses a button on his shield to lower the shield's glass so he can shoot with his rifle.

While Blackbeard's CGI trailer unveils Ubisoft's rework for Operation Collision Point, it's hard to tell how the ballistic shield will be played in the game. The video also shows bullets clashing on the shield's glass, which doesn't crack. Therefore, we could think the glass is bulletproof.

If we stick to what the CGI trailer shows, we could think Blackbeard is now a soft breacher who can also be used as an intel gatherer. However, many questions are left to be answered regarding the shield's characteristics, the potential of Blackbeard's ability, and his loadout. For example, will Ubisoft keep his Stun Grenades despite the rework? If that's the case, he could become a valuable option in games where Blitz is banned.

Additionally, a short gameplay teaser displaying Blackbeard's new shield can be found on Ubisoft's YouTube channel. In the video, fans can hear Blackbeard shooting his MK17 to kill Mute. Right after that, the soft wall is destroyed by an unknown operator. After the reveal of Blackbeard's CGI trailer, people should connect the dots and realize it's the American who enters the room with a bang.

Curiously enough, the release of Blackbeard's shield will clash with the shield nerf that will be introduced in Year 9 Season 4. Considering this, some players are concerned regarding Blackbeard's state in the meta once the rework is released.

To know more about Blackbeard's rework and all of the features coming to Operation Collision Point, make sure to not miss out on the operation's full reveal, which will take place on November 17 at 7 PM UTC!
