On October 4, 2025, Shopify Rebellion's Rainbow Six Siege X player and content creator William "Spoit" Löfstedt announced the creation of an international Tier 2 competition named Spoit Contender Series 2025.
With a prize pool of USD$50,000 and a LAN grand final held in Shopify Rebellion's offices in Toronto, Canada, this is arguably the biggest Tier 2 event ever held in Rainbow Six Siege's history yet.
Keep on reading to know more about the Spoit Contender Series 2025:
Format
The Spoit Contender Series 2025 is a Tier 2 competition that includes teams from two different continents. This is already a challenge to overcome as ping difference is a problem that can only be corrected by separating the tournament into two: North America and Europe and MENA.
The early stages of the Spoit Contender Series 2025 are played independently in each region. Eventually, the two best teams from each region will travel to Toronto, Canada, for a chance to take home a share of the USD$50,000 prize pool.
Here's how the Spoit Contender Series 2025 will work:
Open Qualifiers
The Spoit Contender Series 2025 Open Qualifiers are open to anyone, except for, obviously, Tier 1 players. The competition is exclusive to PC players who are 18 years-old or above.
You can register for the Open Qualifiers here:
The first set of open qualifiers will be played between October 20 and October 21 while the second will be played between November 1 and November 2. This information applies to both North America and Europe and MENA.
The best four teams from each open qualifier will move to the next stage, the Closed Qualifiers.
Closed Qualifiers
The eight teams from the open qualifiers will join the eight already-invited teams in the Closed Qualifiers, meaning each regional Spoit Contender Series 2025 closed qualifier will include 16 teams. The invited teams haven't been unveiled yet.
In this stage of the competition, the 16 teams are placed in a double-elimination bracket. The two best teams by the end of the tournament will qualify for the Finals of the Spoit Contender Series 2025.
Finals
With only four teams remaining in the competition (two from North America and EM each) the rosters face off in a double-elimination bracket. All games at this stage of the competition are BO3 series. By the end of the weekend, the champion of the Spoit Contender Series 2025 will be crowned.
Prize pool
The prize pool of the Spoit Contender Series 2025 is a huge part of the reason why this competition is so attractive: teams will play to claim a share of the tournament's USD$50,000 prize pool.
Here's how the Spoit Contender Series 2025 prize pool will be shared:
- 1st: USD$25,000
- 2nd: USD$15,000
- 3rd: USD$7,500
- 4th: USD$2,500
To give you an idea of how big this prize pool is, this is still more money than the prize pool money of ELEMENT SIX and R6 South Breach 2025 combined. It's also slightly bigger than the prize pool of the Copa Sul-Americana 2025, a South American semi-Tier 2 competition which also includes all of the Tier 1 teams in the region.
Needless to say, the Spoit Contender Series 2025 also sees four teams flying to Shopify Rebellion's offices in Toronto, Canada. While this may not be the longest trip for American players, it certainly will be an incredible experience for the two rosters flying from the Europe and MENA region.
