Season 5 of MW3 and Warzone is set to introduce a wealth of brand-new content through a fresh battle pass in addition to a WWE collaboration allowing players to bodyslam their way to victory. Just like previous Call of Duty seasons, Sledgehammer Games is introducing brand-new weaponry in a bid to spice up the existing meta.

Here, find everything there is to know about how to get the STG in multiplayer and the battle royale in this guide.

How to unlock STG in MW3 and Warzone

The STG once dominated the meta in Vanguard and Warzone's Caldera era and with it possessing similar characteristics to its predecessor, there's a high chance its arrival influences the meta once again.

To unlock the assault rifle, complete Sector 7 of the Season 5 battle pass when it launches on July 24th, 2024. As one of the free rewards up for grabs, there's no need to spend any COD Points in order to add the rifle to your loadouts.

The STG is the final reward of Sector 7 meaning players are required to spend four battle pass tokens to unlock it.

Call of Duty STG history

The STG-44 is arguably one of the most iconic assault rifles in the entire Call of Duty franchise. First appearing in World at War and most recently, Sledgehammer Games' Vanguard, it's been a top pick in most Call of Duty's it's appeared in thanks to its steady fire rate, low recoil, and excellent mid-range damage output.

Described as a 'hard-hitting primary weapon,' the chances of the STG rising to the top of the ever-expanding arsenal are high. The devs have also revealed some attachments that could give players the edge in the early stages of Season 5. From a 60-round magazine to provide larger ammo capacity to the JAK BFB Aftermarket Part to reduce recoil to non-existent levels, there's a build to suit all styles of play with ease.

We'll have to wait for the season to progress to see if the STG can influence the meta where the dominance of ARs has been replaced with the firepower of LMGs.
