Destiny 2 x Ghostbusters crossover: Release date and cosmetics

Sadly, no proton pack gun

Destiny 2 Ghostbusters

Bungie has announced an upcoming collaboration between Destiny 2 and the Ghostbusters franchise ahead of the release of the series' next movie: Ghostbusters Frozen Empire.

The collaboration was leaked last week following the addition of patch 7.3.5. The update included files for a potential Ghostbusters crossover, which was officially unveiled by Bungie on March 11.

Now that we have confirmation of the Ghosbusters collaboration, let's break down everything we know about it and when can Destiny 2 players expect the crossover to take place.

According to Bungie, the Ghostbusters cosmetics will arrive on March 19. It's unclear when they'll be added to the Eververse store or if there's a mini-event planned for them.

Considering the Guardian Games just started, it seems unlikely Bungie is planning to overlap it with another limited-time event.

A total of three cosmetics were revealed on March 11. These are:

  • Ghostbusters-themed Sparrow
  • Slime Ghost Shell
  • An Ecto-1-inspired ship

So far, no armor has been revealed, although Bungie could keep it a secret until this week's This Week at Bungie blog post, which will hit on March 14. If that's the case, we'll update this article accordingly.

Similarly, no news about the cost of these cosmetics was revealed. The most recent collaboration in Destiny 2, the Mass Effect crossover, handed out a Ghost Shell, Ship, and Sparrow for free. However, that content drop did include armor sets, which were only obtainable via Silver, Destiny 2's premium currency.

Of course, once we know something about the cost, we'll be updating this section as well. For more content, check out all brand-new weapons that arrived on Destiny 2 with patch 7.3.5.
