A classic scout makes its return

feature image

Destiny 2 offers numerous ways for players to acquire new gear, including the returning arsenal such as the Patron of Lost Causes scout rifle, which made a comeback with The Final Shape DLC.

Scout rifles aren't in the best place during the current sandbox meta, however, with the Hunter's Journal artifact having an Unstoppable Scout Rifle mod to deal with Champions, the Patron of Lost Causes could have a place in high-end content, especially with its perk pool.

So, if you want to add this returning scout rifle to your collection, we'll tell you exactly how to get it and its God Roll for both PvE and PvP. While you're here, consider checking out how to get the Scintillation linear fusion rifle and its God Roll.

How to get the Patron of Lost Causes scout rifle

In order to get your hands on the Patron of the Lost Causes, you need to unlock the weapon that drops in any Episode 1: Echoes activity. Once you acquire it and the Breachlight sidearm, you'll be able to focus engrams with Failsafe to obtain more rolls.

Patron of Lost Causes God Roll

Patron of Lost Causes has a very decent perk pool for PvE, however, don't expect it to be a top-tier weapon overall beyond using it to deal with Unstoppable Champions. Where the gun truly shines is in PvP, with an amazing perk pool for Crucible including its Origin Trait, Cast No Shadows, which does the following:

  • Dealing melee damage increases this weapon's handling and loads a small amount of ammo from reserves

Patron of Lost Causes PvE God Roll

For PvE, this is what we recommend:

  • Column 1: Arrowhead Brake, Corkscrew Rifling, Smallbore
  • Column 2: Accurized Rounds, Steady Rounds
  • Column 3: Rapid Hit, Strategist
  • Column 4: Explosive Payload, Kinetic Tremors

Patron of Lost Causes PvP God Roll

For PvP, this is what we recommend:

  • Column 1: Arrowhead Brake, Corkscrew Rifling, Smallbore
  • Column 2: Accurized Rounds, Steady Rounds
  • Column 3: Rapid Hit
  • Column 4: Explosive Payload, Kinetic Tremors
