Destiny 2: Best Warlock Prismatic build

The power of Light and Darkness combined

feature image

The Final Shape introduced a brand-new unique subclass to Destiny 2 called Prismatic, which lets Guardians mix abilities from all five previous ones, with Warlock having one of the most fun versions of Prismatic in the game.

Warlocks are all about crowd control and support with Prismatic, with plenty of abilities that let these space wizards heal themselves and their allies, as well as keep mobs of enemies constantly in check.

In this guide, we'll give you the best Warlock Prismatic build in Destiny 2, detailing the best Aspects, Fragments you should use, and even optimal gear that you can run if you have it available.

Best Warlock Prismatic

While the majority of Warlock builds are based around support and healing with the Solar grenade, for this one we're going all in on the damage and crowd-control capabilities of the class.

Furthermore, since the exotic class items are extremely hard to get and drop with random rolls, we won't be taking that into consideration as these are not required, and can be tough to get in any case. However, we'll add a couple of options for you to consider.

Here is what we recommend you run with:

Abilities
Aspects
Fragments
Vortex Grenade
Feed the Void
Facet of Dominance
Healing Rift
Lightning Surge
Facet of Bravery
Arcane Needle
Facet of Sacrifice
Facet of Protection
Facet of Balance

The table above showcases the very specific set of things you need on your Prismatic subclass to make things work, you can pair all of that with the right artifact mods from the active Episode. In this case, for Episode 1, Echoes, the Hunter's Journal offers the following mods that are a must to empower this build even further:

  • Void Hegemony: While you have a Void or Prismatic subclass equipped, defeating weakened targets provides a small Void Overshield

As you can see, the build heavily leans onto the Void aspects of Prismatic, with the rest being a solid compliment to your already strong add-clear capabilities with Lightning Surge.

With the Facet of Bravery fragment, you'll get Volatile Rounds after getting kills with your grenade, which is why the Vortex grenade is important as it's the strongest of all the available ones.

Now that you've got the basics down, here are some recommendations for gear to use with this build, both in terms of weapons and armor.

  • Graviton Lance exotic pulse rifle: An incredible exotic that's relatively easy to get that has the Cosmology perk, which spawns Void projectiles that track targets when you get a final blow
  • Nezarec's Sin exotic helmet: Another easy-to-get exotic. It doesn't add anything incredible to the build, but its perk, Abyssal Extractors, makes your abilities regenerate much faster when you get Void kills

There are also plenty of legendary weapons such as Funnelweb, The Recluse, and Hollow Denial that can get the job done. In short, you're spoiled for choice. If you have the time and luck to get an exotic class item to drop. These are the perks we recommend per column:

  • Column 1: Spirit of Osmiomancy
  • Column 2: Spirit of Verity

With Osmiomancy you'll be able to regenerate grenade energy even faster. In column 2, Verity will give you extra grenade damage for pulling off final blows with Void weapons.

And that's all you need to know. For more content check out how to get the Still Hunt exotic sniper rifle.
