Destiny 2 Episode: Echoes Act 2 has kicked off, bringing more story content and new weapons to farm. Let's break down the Aberrant Action god roll and how to get the new Solar rocket sidearm.
The prominence of this archetype started with Buried Bloodline in Season 23, one of the best Exotics in Destiny 2. Then, earlier this season, players got to get their hands on The Call, an incredible Legendary Strand rocket sidearm, which quickly became a must-have.
Aberrant Action is poised to continue that trend with an impressive perk pool that could potentially make it a standout in the current sandbox.
How to get the Aberrant Action in Destiny 2
To get the Aberrant Action sidearm you need to play Episode: Echoes activities such as Arena: Breach Executable or the new Battlegrounds: Echoes introduced with Act 2. The gun is a random drop but can be focused via Failsafe at the H.E.L.M.
To be able to focus decode the Aberrant Action, you need to complete the A Rising Chorus: Act II quest, which is given to you after completing all the steps in Act I. This has been confirmed by Bungie, however, it seems the content is time-gated and players will have to wait until more steps become available in subsequent weekly resets to access the decoding feature for the Aberrant Action.
You have to keep up with the seasonal story to earn the focusing rights
However, it's important to note that the sidearm will still be available as a random drop even if you haven't completed this quest.
To cost for focus decoding is as follows:
- Four Echo Engrams
- 3k Glimmer

Another rocket sidearm to dominate the sandbox
If you're keen on using this to help your teammates sustain more damage, Aberrant Action can drop with Heal Clip in column 3 while column 4 has the ever-important Incandescent perk for any Solar weapon.
PvP enthusiasts will likely look for a more damaging combo, with Aberrant Action having Ambitious Assassin, Pugilist, and Beacon Rounds in column 3 (although Heal Clip still works fantastically in Crucible), and Snapshot Sights, Swashbuckler, and Golden Tricorn in column 4.
