Call of Duty Critical Countdown event: Everything you need to know

Call of Duty has utilized limited-time events throughout the Modern Warfare 3 cycle and in Season 4, Sledgehammer Games is back with another event where players can get their hands on a wealth of exclusive rewards on top of working through the battle pass. The Critical Countdown event is the first of the season and all there is to know is right here.

Call of Duty Critical Countdown event start date

The Call of Duty blog reveals the Critical Countdown event started on May 29th and runs until June 26th, 2024. This gives players plenty of time to complete the objectives and obtain the rewards on offer. 

Call of Duty Critical Countdown event explained

The Critical Countdown event is centered around the discovery of the DNA bomb in Urzikstan. Players must collect DNA samples from fallen opponents to earn rewards and "uncover the truth" behind the recent discoveries.

Call of Duty Critical Countdown event challenges

Below is a full list of challenges available to complete during the Critical Countdown event.

Ade

• Double XP token - Collect 390 Ade
• Double Weapon XP token - Collect 780 Ade
• Double Battle Pass XP token - Collect 1560 Ade
• Double XP token - Collect 3125 Ade
• Double Weapon XP token - Collect 6250 Ade
• Double Battle Pass XP token - Collect 12500 Ade

Cyto

• Security Clearance calling card - Collect 1560 Cyto
• Safety First emblem - Collect 3125 Cyto
• Just a Spill sticker - Collect 6250 Cyto
• Double Battle Pass XP token - Collect 12500 Cyto

The two other mastery challenges are currently locked but we'll update the guide with the intel as soon as it appears.

Completing all four mastery challenges unlocks the World Ender blueprint for the FR 5.56 assault rifle and is available to use in MW3 multiplayer and Warzone.

Call of Duty Critical Countdown event rewards

Similarly to the challenges, the rewards for the Critical Countdown event haven't appeared yet. There's every chance the event follows the formula of other limited-time initiatives where players have to score kills, complete tasks, and defeat undead opponents to secure the cosmetics.
