After dropping both their World Championship winning Gears of War lineup, their Apex Legends team and a number of staff members over the last couple of weeks, the owner of Team Reciprocity, Chad Larsson, announced earlier today that they will be "releasing all staff and scaling down to just the Crossfire franchise and [their LoL franchise]" following financial difficulties brought on by the Coronavirus epidemic:
Team Reciprocity initially joined the Rainbow Six scene just before Season 9 in January 2019 and has since finished as the top North American team during the 2019 Six Invitational, finished the 2019 US Nationals as runners-up behind SSG and currently sits fourth in North America's Pro League. Most recently, after a disappointing 2020 Six Invitational run which saw them exit in the group stage following defeats to G2 and BDS, they replaced Nyx and Retro with B1ologics and Slashug as they looked forward to pushing for a stronger Year 5 of R6.
Now, with Chad announcing that the team being put up for sale due to the organisation's loss of finance due to the "astronomical crash in the global financial markets", a Reciprocity representative followed up in a Reddit post asking about whether the R6 team may soon be under a new organization, saying:
Can confirm. I'm really really really sorry guys. We had so many big plans for the future, and some exciting things with content and the new team in the works. However, we have too much respect for the gaming community to try to continue when we know we can not. We all complain about the snakes, and now is not the time to be one. If you have any questions, just let me know. As you can imagine...its a really tough time.
Finally, the Team Reciprocity team member of FoxA then tweeted that he and his teammates are currently "restricted free agents" and are looking for a new home:
With this lineup proving themselves to be one of the strongest in North America and a number of tier-one organisations eager to join Rainbow Six and snatch up a Pilot Program spot, the team is unlikely to be without offers with a new organisation possible within a few weeks to represent the following players:
Davide “FoxA” Bucci Gabriel “LaXInG” Mirelez Franklyn “VertcL” Cordero Spencer "Slashug" Oliver Khalil "b1ologic" Pleas Anthony "HOP3Z" Lee (their coach) Taylor "Redeemer" Mayeur (their coach)
