Taiga "Taipon" Katagari has parted ways with FAV gaming after four years on the team, having been one of three players that had been signed when the organization entered Rainbow Six Siege.
FAV, who had a seven-man roster in Stage 3 after the signings of former Fnatic duo Hikaru "Li9ht" Osawa and Naoki "Yura" Takamoto as well as Sengoku Gaming's "Sironeko".
Taipon played the majority of the matches in Stage 3 of the APAC North Division, but was the sixth-worst player in the entire league by SiegeGG Rating. Conversely, he did not play in a single map during Season 3 of the Japan League 2022.
FAV only finished in seventh place in APAC North in Stage 3, only managing two overtime wins -- albeit against far better opposition in REJECT and DWG KIA. In the Japan League, too, they were not too impressive, only managing seventh place in Season 3.
The team will have had time to gel further with their three new signings, giving them an extra punch in their hopes of shock Six Invitational 2023 qualification, but it remains to be seen which five of the six players remaining will be considered for selection.
