A once-overlooked Warzone lethal equipment has skyrocketed in popularity following a recent nerf to C4.
Before Season 5 of Call of Duty's battle royale gets underway, players were quick to throw C4 great distances to deal plenty of explosive damage throughout a match. Following recent buffs and nerfs affecting the entire arsenal, the meta continues to change as fans keep hunting for the best builds to use.
With all kinds of equipment to bolster performance on the battlefield even further, there's one piece of equipment that is standing out from the crowd.
The piece of equipment proving popular is the Thermite, a sticky grenade that burns on impact resulting in huge damage to anyone standing too close. In addition to the high damage output, Thermite also blurs vision, enabling players to use movement to their advantage during the heat of battle.
In a July 10th upload, Warzone content creator WhosImmortal demonstrates another benefit of Thermite that reveals the location of opponents.
In addition to dealing damage and revealing the position of nearby enemies, players can utilize Thermite to block off doorways which is extremely useful when attempting to revive squadmates or to stop the opposition from breaching into a building.
The sudden surge in Thermite use follows a nerf to C4 which saw its maximum damage reduced from 275 to 200 and its explosive radius decreased from 7 to 6.5 meters.
With the Thermite now dominating the meta, there's every chance Raven Software decides to nerf it in a future update to ensure a level playing field is maintained. For now, the Lethal is the perfect pairing to use with any weaponry in Urzikstan and Rebirth Island.
