The Warzone Esports World Cup tournament is taking place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The Esports World Cup is replacing the Gamers8 event which ran in 2022 and 2023. Funded by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, tournaments in Counter-Strike, Rainbow Six Siege, StarCraft II, and more are taking place with millions in prize money on offer.

The Warzone Esports World Cup tournament takes place from July 3rd and runs until July 6th, 2024.

So far, Team Falcons is the only team confirmed to take part in the Warzone Esports World Cup event. The organization signed the trio of Biffle, Shifty, and Hisoka who are widely considered the best team in the world after winning the 2023 World Series of Warzone.

Warzone Esports World Cup format

Here's how the Warzone Esports World Cup format works. Unlike typical competitive Warzone matches, Resurgence will be the game mode of choice.

Here's how the tournament will be played:

  • Players will be split into three groups
  • Each group will play four maps
  • Players will combine their scores to determine seeding for group stage
  • 21 teams will be split into three groups
  • Each group will play eight maps
  • The top 14 teams will advance to the finals
  • The 14 teams in the finals play for points
  • The finals will feature eight maps
  • The team with the most points is the winner

Players in the Warzone Esports World Cup will be playing for $1 million in prize money. Below is a full breakdown of how the money will be split:
