The 2024 edition of the World Series of Warzone has been unveiled by Activision and brings together the best Warzone players in the world for a shot of taking home thousands in prize money.
The World Series of Warzone has acted as the official competitive series for the battle royale with 2023 being the first time a LAN event with spectators saw squads compete for the trophy.
Without further ado, here's everything there is to know about the World Series of Warzone 2024 tournament including the format, schedule, and more.
World Series of Warzone 2024 schedule
The action commenced on May 24th, 2024, with players dropping into the action through an in-game open qualifier allowing all Warzone players to book their place on the big stage.
Players from Latin America and APAC need to register before June 13th where three custom lobbies will take place to decide the teams from those respective regions.
From June 4th until June 12th, 68 trios from the group stage will qualify for the main event by competing in other custom matches.
So far, intel on the Global Finals hasn't appeared yet. 2023's tournament took place in London's Copper Box Arena, a venue that's no stranger to competitive Call of Duty.
World Series of Warzone 2024 format
Unlike Warzone's Ranked Play, the 2024 World Series of Warzone will take place on the larger Urzikstan map. The group stage takes place over a two-week period with players loading into a five-game series. The top 34 teams from the group stage will then battle it out against each other in the upper half of the bracket while the bottom 34 will play in the first lower bracket round.
17 teams from the upper bracket will book their place in the qualifier finals with those who don't make the cut dropping into the second round of the lower bracket. 17 teams from the first lower bracket round will be eliminated while those who advance from round two will secure a place in the qualifier finals. Ten teams who don't make it to the qualifier finals will play in a last-chance qualifier for one final shot at making it into the Global Finals.
Open to teams from EMEA and NA regions, the last-chance qualifier sees players drop into a five-game series with three teams securing a spot in the Global Finals. The sixth and final map is the Wildcard where the winner secures their place on the main stage.
In addition to placement acting as the score multiplier, the World Series of Warzone 2024 tournament will utilize the Match Point rule. Teams must reach a specific threshold to achieve Match Point status. Then, all they need to do is win a map to take home the trophy.
World Series of Warzone 2024 prize pool
A total of $1 million is on the line in the World Series of Warzone 2024 event. Information on the exact prize breakdown hasn't appeared yet but we do know the prize money for the Solo YOLO match is $50,000. This means $950,000 will be distributed for the trios result.
