The biggest Destiny 2 players and clans compete together whenever a new DLC is released to see who is the first one to complete each new Raid. These events required a massive amount of both dedication and coordination, so it's not an easy feat to be a raid race winner, also called World First.
Take "Cruz" for example, a Titan player who is part of the clan Elysium and has been playing the game loyally since forever ago. He and his crew have won the race four times so far, three of them consecutively.
He posted on X (formerly Twitter) a few hours ago to let everyone know that his main account had been mysteriously banned while he was idle setting up his inventory in orbit.
At the time of writing, the reason for his ban remains unknown, and Bungie has yet to respond. However, the community, both on X and Reddit, are talking about it, with some wondering if this was a mistake and others criticizing Bungie and bringing up the fact that cheaters still plague the game.
Developers tend to eliminate cheaters during ban waves, which are executed at random times to prevent cheaters from figuring out what flaw in the software or vulnerability gave it away. So, it could make sense if a few players were mistakenly banned in the process.
It's difficult to predict if this matter will be resolved swiftly or not, but we think it will be on the developers' radar soon as this is a big figure in the community.
As far as raid races go, there won't be any new ones until the release of The Final Shape, which is set to end the current chapter of the game. Before that, Destiny 2 will be getting small content drops such as the recent Mass Effect collaboration and the weekly content updates with Xur and other elements of the game.
