It's an all-Brazilian SI grand final.

Yesterday, w7m esports and Virtus.pro produced one of the most intense matches in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege's esports history. The home side defeated the Russians to make sure the sledgehammer is staying in Brazil.

The day for the BLAST R6 Major Copenhagen and BLAST R6 Major Atlanta champions began in the morning, as the Brazilians defeated the current Six Invitational champions G2 Esports. Ironically, the Bulls won the first map by 7-1, a victory that was followed by a 7-3 on Skyscraper.

As the team had already secured a Top 3 finish, the Bulls wanted more. Following a 7-4 win on Clubhouse, the home side was one map away from the grand finals. Unfortunately for the fans in the arena, the Russians forced the third map.

João "Jv92" Gomes chose the word "exciting" to define the team's match against Virtus.Pro. "The last map was beautiful, the last round was very difficult," he explained in a post-match interview with SiegeGG.

The Brazilian explained that Virtus.pro's style was a problem for w7m esports, as they struggled when they had to face the Russians playstyle. "Their playstyle is very slow," the player said.

"In the attack they did nothing, with one minute left in the round we would still wait, with 40 seconds left maybe they started entering the building, with 15 seconds left they would start approaching the bomb, their playstyle was affecting a lot our playstyle," he explained.

However, the Brazilians expected that from Virtus.pro. Both teams met in the group of death (Group C) at the beginning of the tournament, as the Russians won the series by two maps to one. "We learnt a lot from the first match," Jv92 explained.

"We understood that they would play very slow, their defenses, they would be quite still, it would be very difficult to break into their lineups," he admitted.

Now, w7m esports are one victory away from making history. A win against FaZe Clan would make w7m esports the first team to win everything in the same season. Ending the season with two BLAST R6 Major championships and the Six Invitational 2024 would be historical. And to top it off, it would be in front of their fans.

Definetely, the word to use is exciting.
