Winning points against G2 Esports during play day eight of the European League has locked Team BDS into a place at the upcoming Jönköping Major.
Reaching six rounds against G2 secured the Frenchmen a minimum of one point for a minimum total of 17 points. As a result, they are at least four points clear of NAVI and Heroic in fifth and sixth place with just one game to go and cannot drop out of the top four.
Team BDS are the first team to do so in Europe, as they currently lead the European League. They'll join TSM FTX, Soniqs, Spacestation Gaming, Mirage, CAG, SANDBOX Gaming, and Dire Wolves at the event, with the remaining eight to be determined over the next week.
For BDS, this result was the minimum expected from the team after they missed out on the Berlin Major -- the first global event they failed to attend since their EUCL debut in 2019. In response, BDS replaced Adrien "RaFaLe" Rutik with Théo "LikEfac" Mariano and changed coaches.
This result also puts them an inch away from mathematically locking in a Six Invitational 2023 place, which will likely come in the next week as other results go their way.
