Season 15 will drop soon in Overwatch 15 and you probably want to read the patch notes. The new season, which starts a new competitive year, brings several new features that will change the game's gameplay flow.
One of them is the introduction of Perks, which will grant players new abilities, buffs, and opportunities. While we wait for the notes and the update to drop, here is everything we know about it.
Release date
Overwatch 2 Season 15 is scheduled to come out on Tuesday, February 18th at 11:00 AM PT (7:00 PM GMT).
The update is already available to preload for PC users through the Battle.net launcher. The preload for console players will begin a few hours before the season comes out.
The season will be available for around eight weeks, with a midseason patch dropping in the middle to add all the remaining content for the second half of the season.
What do we know about the patch notes?
The patch notes for new seasons usually come out a day before their release, so we expect them to be available on February 17th.
While we wait for them to be published, the update should bring several hero changes and adjustments, most of them to set up the heroes for the addition of Perks.
As we saw during the Spotlight event, changes to the UI are coming to accommodate the new Perks and other areas of the game, like the hero gallery.
The update could also introduce some new quality-of-life features to the game's competitive mode, now that a new year is starting.
