The first weekend of the Battlefield 6 beta came and went, and players are eager to jump back into the action with the upcoming second weekend. One of the criticisms circulating on social media is the fact that the game won't feature a traditional server browser, something we saw in old Battlefield titles.
Instead, EA announced that a server browser will only be available in Portal, Battlefield's sandbox mode, where people can come up with their own creations. This means that the multiplayer will feature normal matchmaking, just like we saw in the beta.

However, Battlefield leaker temporyal revealed on X (formerly Twitter) that a "custom search" option could be added into the game. This feature will allow players to put in some preferences when looking for a match, but it would need a healthy player base in the region where it's used. The leaker mentioned the following use cases for this feature:
- Avoid the last played map
- Focus on small or large-scale maps
- Specific map-mode combos
The leaker's post explains that the files' descriptions also indicate the feature could expand the search and ignore the conditions to get the player to join a match quicker. This could probably be the case if the search takes too long.
The developers haven't mentioned anything about this feature, so it's unclear at the moment if the final build will have it.
The second and final weekend of the beta will start on Thursday, August 14th, and it will include all the content from the previous weekend, along with the Empire State map and more modes like Rush or Squad Deathmatch.
