Several hero changes planned for next season

Overwatch 2 devs tease changes to Cassidy, Reaper, and more in Season 11

The Overwatch 2 development recently conducted an AMA session on Reddit, allowing users to ask questions about hero balance and upcoming changes. As expected, the team is planning several changes for Season 11 and they talked about a few of them.

When asked about DPS reworks, the devs explained that major changes are coming to both Cassidy and Reaper. On one side, Cassidy's Magnetic Grenade will behave closer to the old Flashbang, dropping the magnetic homing to a target and working for short-range engagements.

The hero will also receive some quality-of-life updates, with some dedicated to his Ultimate ability.

On the other hand, devs are planning a big overhaul to Reaper's Shadow Step but they first need to overcome some technical challenges. In the meantime,  the character may receive some buffs to give him more viability in a "non-Tank buster" way.

Symmetra was another DPS mentioned in a different response, with the devs saying they want to improve her "frontline presence" by improving either her survivability or beam damage.

The team has also been discussing changes for Lifeweaver, with Alec Dawson saying they want to address "the friction that comes with switching between his healing and damage." However, no specifics were mentioned.
