The developers behind MW3 and Warzone have finally responded to lag issues players have encountered in recent seasons.
Some users loading into the action believe the lag has continued to get worse update after update in recent months. With fans testing their internet connection to fix any unwanted stuttering, other causes are creating high latency.
After months of frustration, the developers have finally spoken out about the increase in reports of lag and packet burst much to the delight of those unable to play.
On July 10th, 2024, the CODUpdates X account (formerly Twitter) revealed developers have started investigating reports of lag that are flagged by the in-game indicators during matches.
Devs say some updates to address the frustrating lag have already gone live and say further updates are coming. Fans were quick to celebrate the news. "This could be monumental," says one user while another replies "about time."
On the other hand, some believe the fixes to lag are too little, too late. "Took you long enough to acknowledge it," comments one frustrated fan. "Can't wait for this to be fixed when the next game is already out."
While it's positive to see the developers finally addressing the lag that's affecting the Call of Duty universe, there are only two seasons of the MW3 cycle remaining. With rumors of Sledgehammer Games' 2023 release appearing on Xbox Game Pass, many are hoping the lag stops if the servers experience a major increase in player count.
For now, the lagging could continue for a little while longer which is worth bearing in mind. We can only hope that more fixes arrive either before or when Season 5 arrives next month.
