Lair to replace Oregon in Siege’s competitive map pool

Lair will make its professional debut in Stage 2.

Rainbow Six Siege Lair

Operation Deep Freeze’s map Lair will replace Oregon in Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege’s competitive map pool, according to a @R6Esports post on X (formerly known as Twitter). The map pool update will be introduced for Stage 2.

Oregon had been part of the competitive map pool from December 2015 to June 2019. After the map’s one-year absence, Oregon was re-introduced to the competitive map pool in June 2020. Four years later, Oregon is being replaced again.

Oregon’s replacement will be Lair, a map that has yet to be seen played by professional teams at an official competition. Therefore, it’s difficult to say what to expect from Ubisoft’s newest map, which was released to Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege with the launch of Operation Deep Freeze.

It's also worth mentioning that, with Lair coming to the competitive map pool in Stage 2, it's unclear if the Esports World Cup will make the same map pool change before the tournament’s first edition, which will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from July 31 to August 4.
