KOI have been eliminated from the Six Invitational 2023 following a 1-2 loss against Astralis. Astralis now advance to the next lower bracket semi-final, where they will face G2 Esports.

Astralis got the early lead on Bank as they switched sides with a two-round lead. On defense, David “iconic” Ifidon was crucial with a 1v3 clutch just when KOI were about to get some momentum. Eventually, Astralis took the first map by a score of 7-5.

On the second map, Oregon, KOI had the upper hand for most of the game. The Europeans had a better defensive half than the Americans, with KOI taking four of their six rounds. With a 6-4 lead, the Berlin Major champions only needed two rounds to close out the second map.

Finally, Astralis got the win against KOI after winning the final map of the series on Border. The Americans had a dominant first half, as they won five of their six rounds. However, KOI brought it back, first to 4-6 and then to overtime. Nevertheless, Astralis managed to secure series point once more.

KOI kept their hopes alive, bringing proceedings to maximum overtime, but could only manage a 7-8 loss and are now out of the tournament.

This means that Astralis have now defeated both European Six Major champions from 2022, and will play against G2 Esports tomorrow.
