Geekay Esports have qualified for the BLAST R6 Major Atlanta Phase 3 after defeating Wolves Esports by 2-1 on Nighthaven Labs, Skyscraper, and Oregon.
The Saudi Arabian-majority roster took the win on the first map as the roster won by 8-6 on Nightaven Labs, which was their pick. Later on, the team had the chance to close out the series on Skyscraper, as they momentarily held a 5-3 lead. However, the Europeans reacted just in time to complete the comeback and forced map three with a 7-5 win.
Unfortunately for the French-majority roster, Geekay Esports' defensive half put them between a rock and a hard place. With a 5-1 advantage heading to the attack, the blue roster quickly moved to match point and eventually won the third map by 7-2.
With this win, Geekay Esports have become the first MENA roster to reach the Top 8 of a Six Major. Before the blue roster participated in Atlanta, Team Falcons' 0-3 run in the BLAST R6 Major Copenhagen's Phase 2 was the region's best result abroad.
