Want to know where to find and how to best use the Typhoon Blade in Fortnite? Then we'll tell you all there is to know about this brand-new melee weapon.

With the start of Chapter 6 Season 1, a new slew of weapons and items were made available for players, including the Typhoon Blade, a katana that enhances the wielder's mobility tenfold.

It's one of the most fun melee weapons currently in the battle royale so if you want to get your hands on it, you've come to the right place.

How to get the Typhoon Blade in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1

There are multiple ways of getting your hands on the Typhoon Blade.

The Typhoon Blade can drop from chests

The first is by looting chests and hoping it pops out from them. It can also spawn as floor loot. There are also unique stands that are in fixed locations throughout the map.

While we can't know for sure how many Typhoon Blade stands are currently in the game, these are the ones we could find thus far:

The stands have a fixed spawn location every game

  • South of Masked Meadows in the spiral-like formation of bamboo trees
  • Inside the Lost Lake building

How to use the Typhoon Blade in Fortnite

The katana has some unique properties as it's not only great for dealing damage but also for cruising around the map, as it enhances player mobility.

As a weapon, you can do three different attacks with it.

  • Regular Attack: A sword slash that deals 30 damage per hit
  • Falling Strike: Used while airborne. It will let you perform a slam down attack, and deal 70 damage to any enemy struck
  • Cyclone Slash: A grounded version of Falling Strike. You'll sit still for a few seconds before creating a sideways slash, dealing 90 damage and knocking any enemy nearby away

If you're out of combat you can still use the Typhoon Blade to move around the map. By having equipped, your sprint stamina will last longer and you'll move faster.

On top of that, it has two traversal abilities:

  • Wind Leap: Press jump while sprinting to activate a jump with increased height that negates fall damage
  • Wind Dash: Pressing jump while airborne will activate the Wind Leap, allowing them to dash forward before falling back to the ground. It also negates fall damage

The weapon does come with one caveat: it has a percentage counter that will be constantly depleting while you use the blade. Once it goes down, the Typhoon Blade will automatically break and disappear from your inventory.
