Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 is going to be a new era for the free-to-play shooter, bringing back old features while adding plenty of fresh content. Now that we’re in the final stretch for Chapter 2 Remix, the arrival of Chapter 6 Season 1 is getting even more people talking. Thankfully, Epic Games has shared more information and it looks like this is going to be a huge update.

We’ve already seen a ton of exciting details confirmed, including the arrival of Godzilla and Baymax from Big Hero Six. It helps that a lot of the non-licensed material looks pretty good as well, getting all kinds of fans excited. Needless to say, this is going to be a Season that many fans are going to remember.

Release date

Fans won’t have to wait too long for Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1. Players can get their hands on all this new content on December 1. Some of this content will be released on different dates to make the Season more bountiful for players.

The length of this Season isn’t known yet, but since this is going to be structured like a normal Fortnite Season this should last a few months. Players will definitely have a lot of time to get through this Chapter and get the rewards they want.

Trailers

Epic Games has released two trailers for Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1. There’s a cinematic trailer that shows some of the cosmetics and areas with pre-rendered visuals. It’s an exciting video that will have fans pumping their first as they watch it.

More importantly, there’s a gameplay trailer that shows how much things are going to change. Godzilla is going to be a huge boss that players will be trying to kill with their friends. There will also be a number of giant monsters to fight, showing a kaiju-like shift for the battle royal.

New mechanics

Like we mentioned earlier, Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 is going to have giant monsters for players to fight. Godzilla is only one of these creatures, as more of these kaiju-like animals are going to roam around the area. Players will need to coordinate with their team to take them down, or at least try to get some damage in.

A Demon Slayer event has also been teased, supposedly requiring players to team up together so they can take down demons for rewards. Different masks will supposedly give players new elements that can deal out unique damage, much like the swordstyles in the anime. We actually see this in the gameplay trailer above, making the shooter feel more fresh than ever.

OG Fortnite

Coming a few days after the launch of Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1, players will be able to try out OG Fortnite on December 6. This is to capitalize on the nostalgia gamers have for the way Epic’s shooter played back in the day. It also inspired other shooters to give the nostalgic branding a chance, as Overwatch 2 shows.

As part of the OG Mode coming back, older Seasons will reportedly bring back Battle Passes from the past. Being able to win cosmetics from previous passes is great for players who missed them the first time. It will be interesting to see how else OG mode affects the game.
