Are you excited about everything the Fortnite 33.20 will bring to the battle royale? Then, it's time to break down all there is to know about it.
After plenty of rumors and leaks, Hatsune Miku and Godzilla are finally releasing during this update. If skins are not the only thing you're after, then Epic Games has a few other changes cooked up as well.
From gameplay changes to skin releases and everything in between, here's everything you need to know about the Fortnite 33.20 update.
Fortnite 33.20 update release date and downtime
The upcoming 33.20 patch will be released on January 14. Downtime will likely start a few hours before, on January 13, however, Epic Games has not updated players by giving them a concrete timeline.
Once the developers do, we'll be updating the article. As for what to expect, here are the highlights.
Fortnite Festival Season 7 ft. Hatsune Miku
A new Fortnite Festival season will bring more Jam Tracks and of course, a new icon featured as the guest artists. This time, it will be virtual sensation Hatsune Miku.
Hatsune Miku will have two diferent skins
We have a whole guide that breaks down all the cosmetics and skins dedicated to Miku and how you can get ahold of them once they are released.
Of course, the Music Pass will include a ton of free and premium cosmetics including Jam Tracks, emotes, back blings, and instruments. Even if you're not a Miku fun, there's a lot to unpack.
Fortnite Festival local multiplayer
Remember the old days of local Guitar Hero or Rock Band? Well, they're coming back in the form of Fortnite Festival local multiplayer.
Local Fortnite Festival multiplayer? It's happening
The option will be available for Xbox and PlayStation users with up to four players able to rock out locally. Sadly, you'll need an active Epic Games account linked to your Xbox or PSN usernames for each member, as no guest accounts will be allowed.
Instruments as back blings and pickaxes
While Fortnite Festival instruments didn't have much use outside the mode, with update 33.20 you'll be able to equip select guitars, keytars, basses, drum sticks, and microphones to use in battle royale.
Godzilla takes over Fortnite
The anticipated arrival of the iconic King of Monsters Godzilla will happen during the 33.20 update.
Not only will players be able to obtain the Godzilla skin with exclusive quests, but the kaiju will terrorize the Fortnite island as a brand-new boss that will roam the Chapter 6 Season 1 map.
Fortnite 33.20 leaked skins
We have a lot of rumors suggesting multiple new skins are coming to the battle royale. They may not show up during this update and some could just be outright not happening, so take everything with a grain of salt.
Kong and Mecha Godzilla
If Godzilla is here, it makes sense two of its iconic rivals join him in Fortnite. While nothing more than rumors at this point, very reliable leakers have suggested both Mecha Godzilla and Kong will be coming as skins in the future. It could happen as soon as this week.
Devil May Cry x Fortnite
Another strong rumor suggests Devil May Cry could be coming to Fortnite. Although it's highly unlikely this will happen during v33.20, it's worth keeping an eye out on.
Fans are also hoping this means a return of the wide variety of Capcom skins that haven't been seen in the Fortnite Item Shop in years.
Fortnite 33.20 vaulted and unvaulted weapons
As always, expect the weapon pool to alter when the update drops. Once we get a full list of changes we'll add every vaulted and unvaulted gun in this section.
And that's all you need to know. There's plenty coming with the Fortnite 33.20 update, so there's no better time to jump into the battle royale.
