Destiny 2 Salvation's Edge World First raid race: Live updates, encounters, and winners

The raid race is here!

One of the most exciting events in the Destiny 2 community is arriving once again, as a brand-new World First raid race is about to kick off. A highly anticipated event, the Salvation's Edge raid will lead to the conclusion of the Light and Darkness saga.

Players who have managed to beat The Final Shape campaign up until this point will realize that the story feels inconclusive, and that's because the raid will play a key role in it.

More importantly, once the raid is finished for the first time, Bungie will unlock the eighth and final campaign mission for all expansion owners to enjoy, regardless of whether they've done the activity or not.

The World First raid races are a spectacle of its own, as thousands of viewers gather on Twitch, watching their favorite content creator or a dedicated channel to see which teams progress through each encounter first. Some can be relatively easy and disappointing, like Lightfall's Root of Nightmares. Others are draining marathons, like the iconic Last Wish raid, which took 18 hours and 49 minutes to complete.

Destiny 2 Salvation's Edge World First raid race updates

9:53 PM/ 10:53 PM ET
Sorry for the massive delay folks but the raid is still going, and we got news: Datto and his team have caught up to the leading pack! We have still a lot to go so stay tuned.
5:28 CT/ 6:28 ET
It seems Clan Elysium is in prime position to take yet another raid belt as they have reached the fourth encounter. It's time to figure out the mechanics and DPS rotation
5:13 CT/ 6:13 ET
Quick check, we have several teams on the third encounter, still trying to find an apt DPS rotation to take down the boss. Among them, of course, is Saltagreppo and Clan Elysium
3:36 CT/ 4:36 ET
Let's go! Saltagreppo and Clan Elysium have cleared the second encounter after managing to find a great DPS rotation. They are currently in the lead.
3:14 CT/ 4:14 ET
Saltagreppo's team is close to defeating the second encounter boss. They lack the DPS to take it down before the time runs out and they wipe.
3:00 CT/ 4:00 ET
Three hour check-in. Teams are still struggling with the second encounter, hype is still massive, as Aztecross alone has over 100k viewers.
1:50 CT/ 2:50 ET
First encounter has been cleared by a team! It's none other than Saltagreppo and Clan Elysium to the surprise of absolutely no one.
1:30 CT/2:30 ET
We're 90 minutes into the raid and are still at the first encounter. It seems Bungie did not pulled any punches with this one.
12:49 CT/1:49 ET
Teams are starting to figure out the rotation inside the different rooms and how to deal with the tight timer restrictions, which is what's wiping most of the fireteams at the moment. Worth reminding that we're almost an hour into the raid and no team has made it past the entrance.
12:22 CT/1:22 ET
The raid has been live for almost thirty minutes and teams are figuring out the first encounter's mechanics. If you've played a bit of the campaign you'll notice familiar patterns, however, the way to trigger them seems more convoluted.
11:52 CT/12:52 ET
The Salvation's Edge raid race is starting in roughly eight minutes. The Destiny 2 directory is at over 206k viewers, so safe to say expectations are high.

Best Destiny 2 streamers to watch during the Salvation's Edge raid race

Obviously, you're spoiled for choice here, with some clear standouts depending on what you're in the mood for. With that said, these are the streamers you should keep an eye out for:

With Conquest Mode active, players will be locked to 1965PL. Even if they go beyond that number, the game will cap them to make every encounter harder.

As for the disabled perks and gear, this is the list of unavailable items during Conquest Mode:

  • Cascade Point perk
  • Magnificent Howl perk
  • Relentless Strikes perk
  • Elemental Surges
