Bungie might not be going through the best of times with a big The Final Shape leak leading to massive spoilers hitting social media, but instead of dwelling on it, they decided to drop a few surprises with the new This Week in Destiny blog post, including a brand-new collaboration with Dungeons & Dragons.
The reveal on the blog post was accompanied by a very slick trailer, showcasing the armor each class will get when the D&D collaboration kicks off on June 4, the same day The Final Shape expansion arrives.
The crossover is in celebration of Dungeons & Dragons' 50th anniversary and will be available via the Eververse store, meaning players will have to get Silver, Destiny 2's premium currency, to purchase the gear.
Each class will get a unique set:
- Gold Dragon-themed Apex Draconic set for Titans
- Mind Flayers-themed Flayer’s Dominion set for Warlocks
- Displacer Beast’s-themed Spectral Displacer set for Hunters
While you can buy each set individually, the Adventurer’s Pack Bundle offers more cosmetics including the Queen of Dragons ship, the Owlbear Chariot, and the Eye Tyrant Ghost Shell.
Finally, there will be two emotes up for grabs: Bigby’s Fist Finisher and the Natural 20 emote. The Natural 20 in particular has dynamic properties as it functions exactly like a D&D dice and it will be randomly rolled each time it’s used.
While Destiny 2 is far from turning into a Fortnite-like crossover-centric title, Bungie has been leaning on them more and more in recent months. This year alone we've seen Mass Effect and Ghostbusters-themed cosmetics, with other crossovers including The Witcher, Assassin's Creed, Horizon, and Ghost of Tsushima.
Expect the Dungeons & Dragons cosmetics to be as pricey as crossover gear normally is (around 2,000 Silver, roughly $20), so unless you're a massive fan or really like the aesthetics, you might want to save your Silver for future collaborations.
