COD Warzone Mobile controller support: How to play with a PlayStation or Xbox controller

Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is finally available worldwide and while it allows you to customize extensively the touch controls, some might be wondering how to connect their PlayStation or Xbox controller.

The game supports both controllers natively, so you won't need to install any other application or go through a complicated process to start using them. 

How to play Warzone Mobile with a controller

The process to connect either controller is fairly similar, with the buttons you need to press on the controller being the only difference. 

PlayStation

If you have a PlayStation 4 (DualShock 4) or a PlayStation 5 (DualSense) controller, here is what you need to do:

• Hold the PS Button and the Share button at the same time until the light of the controller starts flashing repeatedly. This will make the controller go into pairing mode.
• Then, make sure the Bluetooth in your mobile device is turned on. You can do it through the Settings app or the quick access menu from both operating systems.
• Once it's on, your phone will scan nearby devices. The controller should appear as "Wireless Controller".
• Pair your phone with that device and you should be good to go. You can't use it to navigate the menus but once you're in a game, the controller should work perfectly.

Xbox

In this case, you will first have to make sure that your controller has Bluetooth capabilities. To do that, you can look at the plastic that surrounds the Xbox button at the top of your controller.

If the plastic is part of the face of the controller, like the one at the bottom of the image, it has Bluetooth. Otherwise, if the plastic is the same as the top of the controller, where the bumpers are, it's an old version.

After checking if your controller has Bluetooth, here are the similar steps you need to follow:

• Hold the Pair button that's located at the top of the controller, close to the charging port, until the Xbox button starts flashing. This will activate the pairing mode.
• Then, make sure the Bluetooth in your mobile device is turned on. You can do it through the Settings app or the quick access menu from both operating systems.
• Once it's on, your phone will scan nearby devices. The controller should appear as "Wireless Controller".
• Pair your phone with that device and you should be good to go.
