Montreal's Phase 2 is kicking off tomorrow.

Ramalho and G2 Esports at the BLAST R6 Major Montreal

With the BLAST R6 Major Montreal heading to the tournament's Phase 2, we have had a look at all of the storylines from the matches that will kick off tomorrow's action. Keep on reading to know more about the games!

DarkZero Esports vs. Team Falcons

DarkZero Esports' players will make their debut in the BLAST R6 Major Montreal against Team Falcons.

Curiously enough, both teams met in their first clash in the BLAST R6 Major Copenhagen Phase 2. Back then, the purple roster secured a 7-4 victory on Theme Park.

Since Team Falcons' debut in the MENA League, the green organization has qualified for two BLAST R6 Majors and one Six Invitational. However, the Falcons have yet to defeat a North American side after having lost against M80 twice and Soniqs.

Despite the team's record against North American rosters, people can't ignore the squad's performances against ALPHA Team and the Chiefs. In what will be Elian "Kobelax" Rodríguez's international debut for DarkZero Esports, Team Falcons' could catch the Americans off guard after having already adapted to the LAN environment thanks to Montreal's play-ins.

SCARZ vs. Chiefs ESC

The match between SCARZ and the Chiefs is a crucial one for both rosters, especially the Japanese. A win against the Australians would see the Japan League 2024 champions getting an extra 10 SI Points and would be one win away from qualifying for the Six Invitational 2025 through the Global Standings.

Despite SCARZ having gathered a lot of international experience across the last two years, tomorrow's clash will be the team's first match against a team based in Oceania. Meanwhile, the Chiefs head to the game after having defeated CAG Osaka in a BO3 series.

Team BDS vs. w7m esports

Team BDS and w7m esports will play an official Rainbow Six Siege match for the first time since clashing in the Esports World Cup. Back then, the European squad ran over the Brazilians as they won the three maps of the series.

While the Europeans did what they wanted against the Bulls, tomorrow's match will be completely different: in a BO1, every detail matters.

Curiously enough, although the roster ended up reaching the tournament's grand final, Team BDS' debut at the BLAST R6 Major Manchester was a 6-8 defeat against FURIA Esports. In Montreal, the team will also make its debut against a Brazilian side. Will the result be the same one?

Soniqs vs. Virtus.pro

Soniqs' debut in the BLAST R6 Major Montreal will be against Virtus.pro. Despite playing in different regions, both rosters have some things in common.

First, both teams reached the Six Invitational 2024 Top 6 as they got the chance to play in the Ginásio do Ibirapuera.

Secondly, although they made it far in Brazil, both teams missed out on the BLAST R6 Major Manchester after underwhelming performances.

Last but not least, only 10 SI Points separate both squads from each other; with 220 and 210 SI Points, both teams desperately need a good performance in Montreal to qualify for the Six Invitational 2025 through the Global Standings.

So, who's going to get a good start tomorrow?

Team Secret vs. Elevate

Team Secret and Elevate will face off against tomorrow in a match that has a great storyline that some people ignore.

In February 2024, Elevate announced the team's Rainbow Six Siege squad for the Asia League 2024, which included four former members of G Who, an organization-less squad that last competed in Europe's Tier 2. The roster's final performance before the team's disbanding was a 1-2 defeat against Team Secret at the R6 South Breach Lower Bracket Final.

Less than a year after the match, Elevate's Chow "Mcie" Pak-him and Alex "Shed" Moore will share a lobby in Montreal with their former teammate at G Who Adrian "Adrian" Tryka, who has become a crucial player in Team Secret's roster.

Meanwhile, Elevate's coaching duo RandoSando and Ryan "Ryke" Kennedy, who coached G Who, will follow what will surely be a special match for the former G Who members.

Team Liquid vs. G2 Esports

Team Liquid and G2 Esports will meet in Montreal for the first time since both teams clashed in Manchester. Back then, the Blue Cavalry took a 2-1 victory that saw the European powerhouse falling to the Lower Bracket. One day later, the samurai lost against FearX as the South Koreans knocked out the Six Invitational 2023 champions of the first BLAST R6 Major of the season.

After the conclusion of the BLAST R6 Major Manchester, G2 Esports decided to make two roster changes as Roberto "Loira" Camargo and Alexandre "BlaZ" Thomas were added to replace Benjamin "Benjamaster" Dereli and Jake "Virtue" Grannan. Additionally, the team parted ways with William "Titan" Davie.

Following the changes made in G2 Esports' squad and considering that this game will be a BO1 match, the result could be completely different. Regardless of what happens in the server, fans will have another chance to see two Six Mexico Major champions clashing as Lorenzo "Lagonis" Volpi and Karl "Alem4o" Zarth will face off for the second time this year.

FaZe Clan vs. Spacestation Gaming

Before the start of Year 8, FaZe Clan and Spacestation Gaming had only met once in Rainbow Six Siege's competitive scene. However, since the beginning of the 2023 season, both organizations have already faced off thrice — at the BLAST R6 Major Copenhagen, the BLAST R6 Major Atlanta, and the Six Invitational 2024.

The only BO1 clash between both organizations was played in Copenhagen, as the Brazilians took a 7-4 victory against the astronauts.

It's also worth mentioning that Spacestation Gaming have lost their last four matches against Brazilian sides, including defeats against FURIA Esports' roster (twice), w7m esports, and Team Liquid.

Considering this and after having won the last two stages of the Brazil League 2024 and reaching the Six Invitational 2024, it's hard to not see FaZe Clan as the favorite to win tomorrow's clash.

Although it's not looking good for Spacestation, this one is for the astronauts that choose to believe: Spacestation's last win against a Brazilian team was, curiously enough, against FaZe Clan, at the Six Invitational 2024.

Dplus vs. Black Dragons

The South Koreans are back to a Rainbow Six Siege international competition after the team's group stage elimination at the Six Invitational 2024. Meanwhile, Black Dragons is among the best sixteen teams at a Rainbow Six Siege international competition for the first time since the Six Jönköping Major.

To qualify for Montreal's Phase 2, Black Dragons defeated FearX in the Lower Bracket semifinal. Now, after having defeated South Korea's Last Chance Qualifier winner, the team will play against the region's Stage 2 champion.
