Battlefield 2042 to get Dead Space event next week

Battlefield's official X (formerly known as Twitter) account has released a trailer for a Dead Space event coming next week. This time-limited game mode, called Outback, will be open for all players from July 9 to July 16.

While today's trailer doesn't include much information about the game mode, it's enough for players to understand what the mission will be: surviving.

Dead Space's enemies are called Necromorphs. Players will have to kill the mutants, protect the site, and successfully escape from the danger. This event will be part of Battlefield 2042's Season 7.

As of now, it seems like Battlefield's fans have welcomed the news with open arms. After all, game modes where players have to kill zombie-shaped enemies are often a big success, at least for a few weeks.

It's also worth noting the trailer's similarity to Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege's time-limited game mode Outbreak and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Extraction. Although fans went crazy with Extraction shortly after the game's release, most of the players don't know how Ubisoft's zombie title is doing now.

While the Battlefield team hasn't made this official, we expect new cosmetics to be included in this new playlist, including the helmets used in the trailer.

We will update this article as soon as EA shares more information about Dead Space and Battlefield's time-limited game mode Outback.
