Alem4o says G2 Esports are "making some changes", "trialing a new player"

The information was revealed on the stream of Brazilian streamer Gaules.

Following G2 Esports’ victory over Soniqs on Aug. 16, Karl “Alem4o” Zarth seemingly confirmed that G2 Esports will be making a change after the conclusion of the Berlin Major.

The information was shared in a post-match interview on Brazilian streamer Alexandre "Gaules" Borba’s stream.

“We're making plans for the next stage. Making some changes but we're going for the win (here at the Major). Everyone is aware. ... We spent some time before the Major trialing a new player, and it got leaked, everyone knows about it already, but we are here to win this event. Our player posted about this being the last dance,” said Alem4o in Portuguese on the stream.

The leak Alem4o referred to is seemingly Rafael “Rafinhafps” Ferreira’s report on BLIX.GG  that G2 were looking for replacements for Kevin “Prano” Pranowitz

Prano had tweeted out a picture with the message “Last dance” one day before the start of the tournament.

SiegeGG reached out to Jack “Doki” Robertson for confirmation, who declined to give comment.

G2 announced its current team days before the start of the season, with Alem4o, Doki, and Prano their brand-new signings.

Five months after the announcement, Europe’s super team is apparently already set to make a change. If true, the change will follow after Ben "CTZN" McMillan took over the IGL role from Prano, who was ostensibly signed for that role.

G2 coach Thomas “Shas” Lee also announced in early Jul. that the organization had opted against renewing his contract after Stage 2 ended.

The "super-team" is now close to playoff qualification at the Berlin Major after having achieved the same at the preceding Charlotte Major. However, despite their quarter-final performance there, they nearly failed to make the 138m trip from their Berlin headquarters to the Berlin Major venue after a horror start to Stage 2.
