The Malta Cyber Series VII Last Chance Qualifiers will kick off later today. With a prize pool of US$20,000, this competition is the second-biggest tournament in Europe's off-season.

Format

The Malta Cyber Series VII Last Chance Qualifiers will follow a double-elimination bracket system. It's still uncertain if the games will be to the best-of-one or the best-of-three maps. Considering the times given for each match, we expect the Upper Bracket (UB) to follow a BO1 system until the UB Grand Final. Meanwhile, the Lower Bracket (LB) could follow a BO3 system.

By the end of the Last Chance Qualifier, the best four rosters in the bracket will qualify for the Malta Cyber Series VII and will join G2 Esports and Team Secret in Malta.

Teams

The Malta Cyber Series VII Last Chance Qualifier will have 16 teams. These rosters made it to the tournament's second stage after qualifying through one of the eight open qualifiers.

Here are some of the teams you should follow closely at the Malta Cyber Series VII Last Chance Qualifiers!

Team BDS

After narrowly missing out on the Six Invitational 2024, Team BDS decided to play the Malta Cyber Series VII Open Qualifiers with the additions of Josh "Yuzus" Pritchard and Fatih "Solotov" Türker.

While the rules of the tournament would allow the returns of Bryan "Elemzje" Tebessi and Olivier "Renshiro" Vandroux, we expect the former MNM Gaming players to feature in today's matches.

Wolves Esports

Wolves Esports is the only Six Invitational 2024 team that features in the Malta Cyber Series VII Last Chance Qualifiers. The French-majority roster heads to today's matches with Brazil as their main priority and it wouldn't make sense for them to show all of their potential in an online qualifier before the most important competition of the season.

FBC

Despite still playing under Rogue the team decided to feature in the Malta Cyber Series VII Last Chance Qualifiers as FBC. The roster led by Leon "LeonGids" Giddens also includes Tom "Deapek" Pieksma and Jack "Jigsaw" Gilles. The Finnish duo of Alex "SlebbeN" Nordlund and Jesse "Jeggz" Ojanen complete the squad.

Into the Breach

Into the Breach was the first top-flight roster to qualify for the Malta Cyber Series VII Last Chance Qualifiers after securing the second seed of the first open qualifier.

According to the participant list of the tournament, the former Heroic and Natus Vincere player Jamie "Skiddy" Diamond will replace Jonas "Jonka" Kaczmarzyk.

Team Valor

Following the roster's 3-1 victory against Team Secret at the R6 South Breach grand final, the French roster must be labeled as the best Tier 2 squad in Europe. Therefore, they are the favorites to cause an upset against any of the teams mentioned above.

REVEN ECLUB

Despite spending the season playing in the LATAM League, REVEN ECLUB will compete in the Malta Cyber Series VII Last Chance Qualifiers.

Only two players remain from the LATAM League 2023 Stage 2 as the organization will compete with the additions of Alexandre "BlaZ" Thomas, Harvey "Eupor" Hawkins, and Skeptic.

When do the Malta Cyber Series VII Last Chance Qualifiers begin?

The Malta Cyber Series VII Last Chance Qualifiers will kick off on Feb. 27 at 1PM CET. The bracket will be played from Feb. 27 to Feb. 28.
