FaZe Clan today qualified for the Jönköping Major after defeating Six Karma in the Copa Elite Six lower bracket quarter-finals. Prior to their game against Six Karma, the Berlin Major finalists had defeated the South American side Pampas 2-0 but fell to the lower bracket in a close 1-2 loss to Team Liquid.
In the BR6, FaZe Clan had a strong start to the stage with four wins and only one loss, getting 11 points out of their 16-point total at the end. However, a 1-7 loss to FURIA Esports and overtime victories against TropiCaos and MIBR made things difficult towards the end of the stage.
Despite falling in maximum overtime against Team Liquid on the final play day, FaZe still managed to finish in third place and made it to the Copa Elite Six. Now, returning to the international stage, the Berlin Major finalists are one of the favorites to win in Jönköping.
They join Wolves Esports and Team BDS from Europe, TSM FTX, Soniqs, Spacestation Gaming, and Mirage from NA, and CAG, SANDBOX Gaming, and Dire Wolves from APAC.
While FaZe Clan haven’t locked a Six Invitational 2023 spot yet, they are very likely to do so in Jönköping, as they now have a minimum of 800 SI Points.
