XSET qualify for Berlin Major

XSET’s Brazilian experiment qualifies for their second event running.

A shock upset victory over Oxygen Esports in the penultimate game of the North American League stage means that XSET have qualified for the Berlin Major.

After the XSET organization was relegated at the end of the 2021 season, its new Brazilian roster finished Stage 1 of the NAL in fourth place and exited 5-8th at the Charlotte Major. Now the team has once again qualified for the upcoming Six Major after securing another top four finish after they ended Stage 2 of the NAL on 15 points.

This qualification comes after they ended the stage with a 4-1-1-3 record, with all four of their defeats being extremely close; either a 5-7 result against beastcoast, DarkZero, and Astralis, or a 7-8 result against Parabellum.

Their final win to clinch the Major spot notably came against the NA League leaders, Oxygen Esports, which is also the previous team of both Leonardo "Kyno" Figueiredo and Evan "Yoggah" Nelson. The duo competed on OxG for three global events, peaking with a 5-6th place finish at the 2021 Six Invitational. Zachary "SpiriTz" Dionne, meanwhile, also previously competed at the 2021 Six Invitational on Parabellum Esports, while XSET’s final two members have only previously competed in one prior event in Charlotte.

XSET will now join Oxygen Esports and Soniqs in Berlin, Germany, from Aug. 15 to 21, as they aim to win a title for both North America and Brazil.
