Today, Ubisoft unveiled all of the details regarding XDefiant's Season 2, which will be released in the upcoming weeks.
Although the game's new faction called Highwaymen has stolen the show, with their grenade launcher, the Scrap Turret, and the Saw Launcher, fans have also welcomed with open arms XDefiant's new game mode: Bomb.
If you're a Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege fan, you will be pleased by the addition of this game mode. While it has some similarities to Siege's competitive playlist, it's not the same.
Here's everything you need to know about XDefiant's Bomb Mode!
Format and rules
XDefiant's Bomb game mode will see players split into two teams of six. While one team plays as attackers, the other plays as defenders. Teams will switch sides every round.
While attackers must plant the bomb, defenders must protect the site to prevent the attackers from completing their goal. If the attackers plant the bomb, the defenders will be able to defuse it.
If you kill all your enemies, your team will automatically win the round, except for those rounds where the attackers have already planted the bomb. If that's the case, you must go and defuse the bomb. Unfortunately, if you don't have enough time to disable the device, you will lose the round.
Keep in mind that, players will only have one life. The first team to win six rounds will win the match.
How to get the best out of my loadout in XDefiant's Bomb Mode
As you can already tell, XDefiant's Bomb Mode is very similar to Call of Duty's Search and Destroy. Although the movement mechanics are completely different, we still expect strategy and communication to be the main pillars.
Therefore, when you're attacking, don't go crazy. You must plan how you will approach the defended site. It's then that you can think of what tools to bring to the battlefield, as the defenders will also bring their own.
We expect Barbed Wire to be crucial when defending, as the sound cue can tell the defenders where the attackers will be coming from. Explosive devices will be important for attackers, who will have to deal with bulletproof utility. If you're a Siege player, we're sure you will learn how to navigate through XDefiant's Bomb Mode!
