Valorant 9.10 patch: Everything we know about the update

A new armor type is coming

Patch 9.10 is next on the calendar for Valorant players and Riot has already hinted at some of the changes this version is bringing. This won't be a small patch by no means, since it's set to introduce a brand-new armor type into the game.

While we wait for its release, here is everything we know so far about the update.

Release date

Patch 9.10 for Valorant will go live on Tuesday, November 19 or Wednesday, November 20, depending on the region you currently play on.

Severs could go down for a maintenance period before the patch rollout begins, but this should be announced at least a day early through the game's status page.

Regardless of that, the update rollout should start at around 6:00 am PT for North America, LATAM, and Brazil servers. European users will have to wait until Wednesday at 4:00 am BST.

Confirmed changes and speculations

Two changes have already been confirmed for this patch, with the first one being the addition of a new armor type called Regen Shield.

Although we are still waiting for official information about this new feature, we expect the shield to have at least 50 HP. As hinted in the Episode 9 Act 3 trailer, this new shield will automatically heal you after you lose health points.

This means the shield will work as an instant heal ability that doesn't expire, unlike Clove's or Reyna's over health.

If we put it into practice, a headshot would still kill someone with Regen Shield since they only have 100 HP. However, if a person receives a few body shots, they will instantly get their health back if they have the Regen Shield equipped.

Phoenix aiming in a Valorant cinematic

The second confirmed change is related to one of the game´s duelists, Phoenix. The agent's walls will now penetrate through map walls and its Curveball will become a signature ability. This last part means the Curveball will recharge after getting two kills.

These are meant to be buffs to the agent who isn't a favorite in the current meta, but we will have to wait and see if it's enough.

Once the complete patch notes are out, we will update this article to add them here so you can read about all the changes. You can check out our agent's tier list to see which agents are performing better, but this will change soon since Neon is the next one on Riot's nerf list.
