Team Liquid moves head coach reduct to IGL role, LENDA benched

The Blue Cavalry have taken the decision four weeks before the start of the LCQ.

Reduct Team Liquid

Team Liquid have announced the team's decision to move their head coach Tassus "reduct" Issi to the starting roster. The former MIBR player has become the roster's new IGL as he has replaced Thiago "LENDA" Torres, who has been moved to the bench.

Reduct, mainly known for his trajectory as a player for Team oNe and MIBR, made his coaching return in August 2018 after signing for Team Liquid. The Blue Cavalry were one map away from qualifying for the BLAST R6 Major Munich as their Lower Bracket Quarterfinal match ended in a 1-2 defeat against w7m esports.

In December 2025, Team Liquid finished in fourth place of South America's Regional Finals after back-to-back victories against LOUD and Ninjas in Pyjamas were followed by a narrow defeat against FaZe Clan.

According to reduct, this decision is temporary as his focus is still "evolving more in my role as a coach." The Brazilian will remain in Team Liquid's starting roster for the whole length of South America's Six Invitational 2026 Last Chance Qualifier, which will be played between January 16 and January 18.

The upcoming qualifier will be Team Liquid's final chance to qualify for the Six Invitational 2026. The Blue Cavalry are the favorites to qualify for Paris but Black Dragons, LOUD, Elevate Academy, and the former Stellae Gaming roster will likely be hard nuts to crack too.
